Has anyone gone through this while going through radiation treatment for Base tongue cancer?? Does it work? is it worth it?
Thanks!

None of my Drs.
ever mentioned a way to get rid of them.....except the usual suffer through with soda/salt and L-glutamine.....I've never heard of either method for getting rid of them.

Someone mentioned it in another post and said it was very helpful! It is only done at dental offices but not sure why the docs wouldn't recomend it.

Probably because they don't know....AJG said:Someone mentioned it in

that would be my guess. I would have hopped onto that band wagon in a NY minute during treatment.....my mouth was like hamburger, and nothing could get in through my lips.

Wow was he very knowledgeable about the diode laser?AJG said:My dads doc said "no" to
My dads doc said "no" to laser treatment. He thinks it delays the healing process!! Never mind....
Mine healed within 2 days and it numbed the nerves on my tongue so well I could eat the day after treatment. The yag laser is much stronger I think and could delay healing. Not sure if oncologists are very familiar with the diode. MIne never heard of it. It is a dental procedure for mouth ulcers and canker sores. I do not think dentists use the yag.
