The activity
on this site has gone way down; a lot are more active on Facebook.
I was diagnosed March 2010. Just finished chemo in July for first recurrence. Am in remission. Next month will have first CA 125 since treatment. Feeling really good. No major problems. Of course I had less chemo this time. It only took four infusions to tame the beast.
Good to hear from you ladies.

I just joinedHello Kikz.
I just joined this board a short time ago. I find the similar stories somewhat comforting and the success stories, like yours, upflfting. I would be wary of Facebook and privacy. I feel much safer on this site. Am I wrong?
I was diagnosed in April. The chemo, carbo/taxol initially worked and then stopped. I had the debulking surgery and a total of 6 chemo. I will be looking now for a different chemo or a clinical trial. What chemo worked for you?

Good to have you back Kim!
I am 46 in Toronto, Canada. Married + 1 daughter (20)
Dignosed in May 2012, stage 3C, BRCA1+.
Finished chemo Taxol / Carboplatin in Nov. 2012, NED for 9 months.
1st recurrence in Sep. 2013, no treatment yet, feel fine, waiting for the PARP trial.
I'm getting another CT scan today to see if tumors have grown and if biopsy is possible.

You will find the new pre-CT scan drink much improved. It had virtually no taste.
I will be going for a consultation at Southlake today to see what other chemo they have to offer.

Age: 61 (?!? Really
Age: 61 (?!? Really !?!)
Location: Ohio, home of the Ohio State University Buckeyes!
Diagnosed: March 2012
Stage 3 c, high grade. Second, unrelated cancer in uterus, stage 1, discovered in pathology from surgery.
Genetics: I still haven't had the testing done.
Treatment: 3 rounds of taxol/cisplatin to reduce tumors away from bowel before surgery in June, followed by 5 months of IV/IP taxol and carboplatin. Nearly made it through a planned year of monthly taxol for maintenance. Just started carbo/gemzar. Early on I made some big changes to my diet and added some supplements. Still crave Diet Coke...with pizza...with breakfast...with salad...at bed time...when I breathe...I really miss it!
CA 125 was around 300 at diagnosis, shot up to 2000 with first chemo treatments, but was down to less than 5 in January 2013. TI don't think I was ever truly in remission, because the numbers slowly but consistently rose every month this year until now it is 145. There are two small pelvic lymph nodes on CT scan. Hence, the carbo/gemzar started last week.
Current status: No hair, beautiful wig #3. Tingling neuropathy in the middle 3 toes on each foot. Except for being tired, I don't feel sick. Looking forward to a fun Thanksgiving with my daughter and son-in-law in NYC!

Great to see you.Hi Kim...
Great to see you. I am glad all is going well for you. I just had a check up and all is well. Feeling great. CA was 5.8 which I was very happy with. It has been almost two years since I was diagnosed in January of 2012 and I have been NED for 17months. Gearing up for the holidays. Going to be a great Thanksgiving.
Stay Happy and most of all healthy.
