CT Scan for Lung Cancer results - found after anal cancer
Hello, I told Martha I would post my ct scan results after having my yearly ct scan for lung cancer.
I originally had anal cancer and completed tx on 6-30-09, well upon scanning for follow up, a lung nodule not related to the anal cancer was found in my lower right lung. Well it was determined that it had to come out. I had vats lung surgery on 9-23-10.
My CT scan I had on 11-4-13 shows no evidence of decease. I won't have to have another scan until 11-14-14.
I feel very blessed today. Lori

Congratulations.
But just curious: What is Vats lung surgery?
So glad you are on a one year follow up!
Fondly,
Sandy
video-assisted-thoracic-surgery is less invasive than the standard thoracic surgery. I have 2, 3 inch incisions. One for the video line and one for the surgical instruments. I had my lower right lobe removed, I was in the hospital 3 days, and back to work in a month. Quicker healing time. I wish you well, Lori

Hey Z,
I finished my treatments in June 2013. I had problems with my hips but found out it was just scar tissue from radiation and had to exercise in wich hurts..but in September I had a severe lung infection and had to be put one steroids antibiotics breathing treatments and inhalers! I never have had a lung infection in my life! Then in November I had my port taken out and it was only local they put me to sleep no ventilators ,after surgery I coughed up a HUGE clot and then on the way home coughed more blood and then again that night but I havent coughed blood since then..now I have some pain come and go in my rib area lower right and upper left side..it comes and goes and I have vertigo. My dad had the same cell as I except he had lung cancer and so did his mother I lost them both to lung cancer..I am scared..can you tell me more about your recurrance please

Hello, I saw on your other post you will be going for a ct scan. I was a 35 year smoker and quit after the anal cancer dx. Have you ever smoked? I had no symptoms of the lung nodule it was in my lower right lobe and was 1.3 cm very small. I hope when you have your ct scan that it comes out clear. I think after having cancer we think every pain is cancer. I wonder if because of your lung infection it caused irritation in the lungs and thats why you coughed up blood and that was a sign of healing. I don't know just thinking out loud. I hope you will get all your answers soon. I wish you well. Lori

I have my next lung scan in January and I am so terrified, I can't stand thinking about it. I have had 2 different cancers already, so the possibility of mets is very real for me.
So far, I have not agreed to surgery to biopsy lung nodules because I am not sure how much more my body can take. How was the recovery? I need to muster up more courage.0 -

I want to wish you all the very best on your CT scan. I know how easy it is to be anxious before a scan, but I hope your news will be all good!

Hi,
I also finished treatment in June 2013. I have a little bit of a cold with some coughing right now and it scares me. I agree with what the others have said, every little thing makes me think it's back. I hope that time will help that. I wish you all the best. What stage were you when you were diagnosed?

I was stage II 5cm and had not spread..this scares me so ..I try not to think bad upon it but with the coughing blood and infection, vertigo, and certain places in my ribs hurt it scares me..I want to overcome this fear and if the scans Tuesday show nothing then that is what I am going to work on..I know it scares you with coughing..I know it does..will this fear ever go away!

I shouldnt compare but I am scared....and I cant deny that part...

I was a stage 2 for the Ac and stage 3 for neuroendocrine cancer.....
I had a very bad lung infection some time after treatment. I got very sick. I had never had anything like that before. Cleared up with antibiotics. Other than that, no symptoms.0 -
