Blood pressure issues

My blood pressure had been running on the low side just prior to and after surgery, 110/62. Then it started to rise: averageing 135/78. Two days ago it was 122/70. The next day it spiked to 150/84 and this morning it hit 170. I took an extra BP pill and it has dropped to 150. Have a call in to my primary doctor. Anyone have a similar experience and how was it handled.  I had partial nephrectomy 10/16.

Yes...definitely see your primary.  There are so many kinds of BP meds and some work better than others, and some don't do the intended job for the individual.

I'm on 2 kinds-a beta blocker and an Angiotensin II inhibitor, and that's along with a simvistatin for cholesterol.

Your doc may have to "try" different combinations for you.  And he may ask you to get a BP monitor for home.

Hope you can get this all under control.

    BP is stable

    Donna,

Thanks for your feedback It's much appreciated. I had been taking Valsartan HCT, 325/12.5 mg. Had added norvasc, 2.5 mg, and blood pressure has been fairly stable, running about 125/66. Scheduled to have hernia surgery Dec. 2, so my mind is a bit more at ease now with stable blood pressure.
