WBC still low. New baseline?

Hello,

Robert is doing well being 19 months post treatment.  He is holding on to this WBC of 2.1, just wondering if anyone else has had a new low baseline with their WBC?

thanks,

Denise

    My Onc didn't

call it a "new baseline"....but when I was in for my last big blood work the end of September, I was still low in WBC's, RBC's, and platlets....I was a year out of treatment at that time.  They didn't see it as a huge deal, tho.

    yeah, although that's low

it isn't low enough to increase his infection risk.  Best bet is they aren't worried about it because it is high enough to not be a risk to him.  These laboratory abnormalities can persist for a long long time post chemo.  Generally they eventually return to the old normal when treated with the drugs we are exposed to for SCC.

    Dads is low too

Yes my dad Is 2years from treatment and his WBC is still low.  i believe it was about the same and has been that way since we finished treatment. None of his doctors ever said anything about it when I asked.  They just say its ok.
