Sorry
Sorry to hear of your sons and yours struggles. Although this is a great support group with vast knowledge, generally it is not a good idea to post your e mail address on an open forum like this. There are a lot of wackos out there and spammers that this site hs filters for. Ask your son to check out this site.
good luck,
Allen

See if
See if you can get your son to come to this site,we have a lot of stage 4 people here including me,I became stage 4 last year. Not everyone is going to die, everyone is different, and don't pay any attention to the stats, they are only a guideline.I plan on going on for a long time yet. When a person is first dx they usually get depressed. We are here even if he just wants to vent,or ask questions.Good luck.

find him a "buddy"
HI Patty - sorry about your son's diagnosis. BUt it's not all doom and gloom. Hopefully, chemo will serve him well ... and lead to liver resection and remission.
Have you looked into signing your son up for a buddy? you can sign up for support through the American Cancer Society website ... also, look into signing him up through the colon cancer alliance website. They can pair him up with someone who is or has been on a similar journey who can offer support and helpful tips about treatment, etc.

I have done it
I was diagnoised with Stage 4 and went thru all the situations possible it seems. And I am here to tell you that you can beat it. I was diagnoised in November 2011, went thru chemo, surgeries, and more during 2012, and as of November 2012 I am considered cancer free! Have your son private message me and we can exchange info and I can tell him my information and what to expect during this ordeal.
Good luck to your son, and I am willing to share my experience. I was 42 when diagnoised if that matters.
