Hi everyone!  I had my second CT scan last week and everything was good.  Cancer still gone and my blood clot is gone.  The doctor still wants me on the blood thinners for another 3 months.  He also said I could get my port removed which is scheduled for Nov. 8th.  Yah!!  I want that reminder gone.  It breaks my heart to see the posts of what people are going through.  Been there, done that.  I keep praying for everyone who has this horrible disease.  Hugs to everyone......

Cynthia

This is great news.  And getting your port removed will be a huge relief and like you said, a reminder gone.

Nov 8th, its on my calendar.

    Sandy, yes the Grand Canyon.

Sandy, yes the Grand Canyon.  My husband and I went to Sedona, AZ last month.  That was my "done with chemo and cancer free" vacation!  So glad to hear you're doing well too.

    Good news

Keep on spreading the good news!  Glad to see your "F cancer" trip took you to the Grand Canyon, it's so beautiful there.  We are going to Vegas next month for my husband's "F cancer" trip.

That's grat news. It is such

That's grat news. It is such a feeling of freedom to have the port taken. You will love not having it. I compare it to the ankle bracelet that some parolees where so their every movement can be monitored.

    WooHooo

What excellent news and so glad that the port is coming out.  That is a great sign that all is going in the right direction.  Hope the surgery goes well for you on the 8th.  Thank you for the update and that is worth a naked happy dance. Smile

    Awesome news!

I know how you feel about the port. Currently I have a PICC line, two drains and a stoma bag, a bunch of staples attached to me and this makes me feel like a bionic man. Today ill have the drains and staples removed and it should feel better.

    Great news!  My 2 doctors

Great news!  My 2 doctors disagree about when to get the port removed.  I have appointments with both in November and will decide then what to do.

    Laz,

I'm so sorry you have all those things on you.  I just hate cancer and what it does to people.  Glad to see your new picture.  You look very happy with your new marriage.

    I've heard some doctors make

I've heard some doctors make you keep the port in for a year after you've finished chemo.  My doctor said if my two CT scans came out clean (which they did) then I could have the port out.  If by some awful chance my cancer comes back then I'll just get the port put back in but now I want it gone!

    Thanks...

...things will be all right. I'm already down to only a stoma bag and PICC line. Yesterday they removed my drain and I feel free. I wish you the same wonderful feeling after the port removal. It's not just a piece of plastic, it's a symbol.
