If I did this right
....this should be the real me. Time to stop hiding behind my kids! If this turn out to be a picture of a chicken pot pie, please ignore! Debrajo

Look at all that Hair! So nice to see your pretty face. I'm going to have to learn how to put a picture on. My brain is lazy.
Thanks Connie! My brain is fuzzy and lazy! Thats why it took me two times to get it right! The story behind the hair: I have always worn it long, but only shoulder length. Of course I lost all of it during chemo so when I finished chemo in May of 2010 I decided to let it grow til I either reacured or reached the "magical" five year mark, which ever comes first. If I can stand it, I plan to donate ten inches of it to "locks of Love" It came back in straight and baby-fine almost like it was before, but the top half is brown and grey and the bottom is redish brown! Don't know what wig company can possibly do with it, but it's theirs! Best, Debra

You're out from behind your kids...yahoo! You look great and happy to put a face with your postings. With all those kids, a group could hide behind them.
My daughter shaved her head after my recurrence, but unfortunately she couldn't give to "locks of love" as hers was treated...darn! I will tell you, short hair is much easier. Then again, now I can tell you NO HAIR is the easiest of all.....mine is going, going, almost gone!!
Hugs,
Jan

Thanks all! I have never had short hair til this cancer thing, but bald is so liberating! No shower caps, perms, colors! I did love my wigs, and besides, who am I trying to fool. I am an obese, almost 62 year old grandmother of nine and counting! I FINALY like ME! @ Alexandra, yes if things had worked out right there would have been eight kids, but looking at my Motly Crew, I wonder WHAT WAS I THINKING!!! LOL! Debra

Such a good picture of you.
Love the long hair. I think all the women that have traveled this journey are beautiful.
I have decided to keep mine short, but the lady I went to last time would not cut it as short as I wanted it.
We did donate our hair back in 2011 before chemo started to Locks of Love as my sister and daughter all cut our hair before my first chemo treatment. I just wonder if they used the long gray hair on a wig for a child, as I do not color mine.
All the best to everyone. trish
