Lingual Tonsillectomy/Biospy What was everyone's pain/recovery?

I'm scheduled for a lingual tonsillectomy/biopsy in which they will take the entire lingual tonsil.  What was everyone's recovery for this procedure and any complications?

    as a rule

Tonsillectomies in adults tend to be pretty sore for a handful of days, then gradually better over several weeks.  Many who post here have had this done.  You might not wat to go fishing for complications before these proceedures, lol.  If you have a large collection of people who have the same procedure, even if its just a haircut, you will find a few with horror stories.  The complication rates to tonsillectomy are acceptably small, mostly bleeding problems, and generally solved pretty easily.  You've got your plate pretty full right now without adding to it unnecessarily.

    best to you

    Tonsils

I believe mine that were cancerous were the palatine tonsils...

Either way, I can tell you that removing them wasn't bad for the first day or so. But them it was pretty intense for 4-5 days when trying to eat anything. Whoever said eat a lot of ice cream obviously didn't have their tonsils removed as an adult.

To me, it was more intense than the several weeks of radiation...

But it was over fairly quickly...

I just ate warm runny mashed potatoes, gravy, creamy stuff....

    No different

Being you had your palatine tonsils removed along with biopsies not too long ago, you have a pretty good idea of what to expect as well as what complications can arise. Get ready for round two! ...it's gonna suck for a couple of weeks.

Good luck, positive thoughts and prayers.
