Marriage and Cancer Survival

This is not a joke. It's an actual Harvard study. Someone used cancer research money to collect this statistics.
Next time I have to go on chemo, I'll say "no thanks, my husband is already making me nauseous"

What the heck?!
I'm trying to figure why this story disturbs me so much. I know I don't like the conclusions that are drawn from the study. While having a loving and supportive spouse is immensely helpful to a cancer patient or to anyone who is seriously ill, "marriage" is not the magic cure-all pill for a cancer patient.

Maybe when I posted above, I was missing the point of the article, which is to state the obvious: having a circle of supportive and loving family/friends greatly helps a cancer patient's chances of survival?
