....... What is cancer, what is Rituxan and what is just something unrelated. However my pain is very real. Medicine seems to look for the most usual circumstances. However the way I see it not everybody wins the lottery but if one disbelieves every person who says they won then they will be wrong on occasion.
i am surprised how different your and my therapies are. The onc called mine the "european protocol". 8 weekly infusions followed by 1 infusion every 8 weeks for 2 years. Its probably because I did not have the chemo first. My Rituxan ends Jan 28. It will be interesting to see what happens with the leg pains after it stops. I suspect some sort of nerve damage.
good luck!

I have not had chemo. at all, just Rituxan.
Good luck to you, too.

Bone Pain
I have been having Rituxan first as part of full chemo and then for maintenance. Six full chemo and then 18 months maintenance which ends this month. I have arthritis in my knees but it has gotten worse and the thigh and shin bones hurt now too. I have had the Lymphoma twice since 2010. I am wondering now if the Rituxan and causing more pain. I am going to ask my doctor when I go in.

I have had several rounds of rituxan over the last 10 years with most recent being r-cvp end of 2012 and now I am currently through 1 year of my bi- monthly 2 year rituxan maint. I always had problems with pain and rituxan but this time has been the worst. I have horrible knee, shin, and ankle pain. Also lots of nerve twitches. So much that doctor is giving me a break for a few months to see if pain improves. It is becoming very difficult to function normally or even sleep. I have marginal zone B cell NHL.

Hi Daisy and welcome to the group. I was wondering if Rituxan has been your main therapy for the past 10 yrs? Are you in remission or have you ever reached remission? Hope your pain gets better with time. Take care

Rituxan and pain
Hi there,
My husband had lower back pain before all of this cancer treatment business, but it has gotten much worse since having maintenance Rituxan treatments once every other month. He also has had a new pain in his neck area that an MRI revealed is arthritis. The MRI didn't show anything in his lower back area, however. It's hard to say if this is just the natural progression of the back pain, or after-effects from the poison put in his body from chemo, radiation, and now regular Rituxan treatments (IV). He does sometimes experience leg pain though, which we attribute to the Rituxan. If you ended up doing PT, I hope that it helped alleviate your pain...
Sincerely,
dlrenn
