Squamous Cell Carcinoma was found on my uper right lobe they removed the lobe 8/11/13, in three weeks I do 4 sessions ,1 every 3 weeks of chemo, pet scan just before lobe removal showed no cancer except in the lobe, so they say the chemo is an extra precaution, not sure I belive any of the doctors, some depression and fear so thought I would join this forum, one month has passed from my sergery and I am back at work three days now, hope to get more hope, I see maney others here.

Sorry you had to find us. I had vats for my lower right lobe on 9-23-10. Because it was caught so early I was a 1a and didn't required any chemo or radiation. So far so good.
I also visit the Inspire web site, you might want to visit there also and register. Theres a lot of activity on that site and plenty of hope. Theres hope here too but not as much activity. I know its scary but if they are able to remove it surgically thats great. I wish you well Lori.

No one mentioned 1a,b, or any other levels, just said they belive it was in the early stages but grew fast was aggressive, they cut me from my back to my front right side and removed the whole top right lobe the mass was 5.6cm when detected 4 weeks later when removed it was 6.5cm so they said that was fast growth and chemo is an extra precaution, anyone know the name of the type of surgery I had guessing it was not VATS?
