Trachea Cancer

Just wondering if there is anyone out there diagnosed with cancer in their windpipe?  A possiblity for me.  After raditation, chemo, glossectomy, neck dissection, now they see something in my windpipe.  I had CAT scan, don't know the results yet, but I think I am done.  How much is one person supposed to endure?  I don't even know what can be done for cancer in the trachae.  Feeling so discouraged.

    So Sorry

I am so sorry that you MAY have to endure yet another round with Jack, you have certainly had more than your fair share to deal with, that's for sure!  Try to remain upbeat until you know for sure that there is something there.  It could very well just be something benign.  I did a little reading, and there is definitely a treatment plan for cancer of the trachea.  Best of luck to you.  I will add you to my prayers tonight.

    ANOTHER SHOE

Hey Chuckles, I'm very sorry to hear that another shoe may be dropping for you; hopefully it is a false alarm.  I did have that shoe drop for me back in 2011 when I thought that I had a sinus problem, because I started being short of breath while running and surfing.  I turned out to be a beast invasion at the enterance of my trachea, so as of 6/6/11, I became a trache.  It's just something else that we have to cope with, and adjust, and adapt to; it's all doable, it sucks to have to do it, but we buck up and do what needs to be done.  If you do find out that you are about to become a trache, it is no doubt very discouraging, but it's not the end of the world by any means, so take a deep breath and  take it one step at a time.  I recommend checking out the International Association of Laryngectomees on-line, i.e., theial.com, for a wealth of information, it's a great organization.  Feel free to contact me by e-mail if you like.  I'm hoping the alarm is false.

    Chuckles....

First.....I can imagine how discouraged and upset you are feeling.....but it has yet to be diagnosed as cancer.  Tracheal cancer is super rare....You've had radiation, tho....and it's not so rare for it to do some damage to areas of throat unrelated to where your original cancer was.

Hold tight until they have the results in, and we'll hold your hand.....put you in our pockets, and send positive thoughts and prayers....

    Hi Chuck

Anything is possible just don’t give up and keep fighting it with all you got. For me I was on my last leg and thinking it was all over then for what only I believe was a miracle the C just stopped growing and has been that way for the last 7 years.

There are just some things that man just can’t explain for me that is when God takes control.
