ron brought home his mask. had it in the trunk and I stopped for groceries. The bag boy went to load the groceries in the trunk and flinched.
guess you never know what you will find in a trunk.
ron brought it in the house and our bichon dog freaked out barking and growling at it.
I guess it is very scary looking.
ron is taking it to his brothers farm in south dakota in the spring. going to blow it up or get the shotguns out.
That is so funny! My dog wasn't sure what to think about my mask either. He tried to pounce at it but since has left it alone I'm putting mine in the fire pit this fall!

matt, this angel has horns holding the halo up. I had to fight and bite to get him to stay on the preventative regimine.
But so far he only got bitey on wednesdays due to the chemo.
he is really fatigued more this week than ever.
having hard time swallowing and definitely using the magic mouthwash with lidocaine a lot now.
no pain meds. but the dry mouth and swallowing are the worst , xylimelts are some relief.
again,
thankyou
First, CONGRATS on finishing the daily grind. Hopefully he won't get worse but just not better for the next couple of weeks.
And the devil horns with halo, oh how I know. Bitning my tongue is very hard for me and I laugh and tell everyone I deserve a medal for not killing him myself. LOL. I wanted to yell, scream and beat him when he wouldn't do what he was supposed to do but you can't, they are the ones with the cancer.
It changed this house upside down, everyone walked on eggshells and really could not be themselves. CANCER changes everyone not just the ones that have it.
Still waiting for the day he does something that really ticks me off so I can be me and just let it out.
Keep up with us here and letting us know how everything is going.
Congrats to both of you

echo myoh sandy,
echo my feelings!!!
but I know ron has done the same for me in the past , taking care of me after surgeries.
I gues its just my time to take care of him. At least I can cook and being a nurse can take care of him whether he wants it or not.
keep me posted on robs progress and keep plowing ahead rob!!!!!

I still have mine and that's how I want it to meet it's demise! Gotta find someone who owns one first!

Remember MM and lidocaine are short term relief. If he has pain that endures then don't suffer and get onto some pain meds that are time released. Most will offer relief for 8-12 hours, whereas lidocaine is 15 minutes if you are lucky.don

don , I asked him if he was having pain, just sore where tongue hits his teeth.
keeps denying pain.
He seems more alert and rested today., but he is still in the recliner watching his westerns, lol.
I had no idea how many westerns there really was until this!!!! ALL DAY EVERY DAY
lol,
janet
and T, good luck with shooting up the mask.
rons brothers are ranchers in the badlands of south dakota, so they have rifles for hunting and protection.
ron will have fun and relief from it , until then it is in my DINING ROOM, my poor dog is terrified of it. and it scaird the hell out of me last night when I got up
in the middle of the night, kind of like jason in friday the 13th.
I dont know how all of you do that mask, god bless all who have had to.

Janet,
You can tell if he is in pain. Those subtle quiet groans and moans or the slight hesitations getting around or the wince in the face when chewing or moving around. If he is in real pain, his body will not lie. If he seems pretty pain free, more power to him. Everyone is different: some never needs narcos, some still on them many months after tx stops. don

discomfprt when hedon,
discomfprt when he coughs and swallows on tongue, otherwise no wincing.
very fortunate, but then again, he is just finishing treatment and was told that the first couple weeks out he
may develope problems that hadnt risen yet.
offered him some pain meds and he refused.
playing it day by day.
