From kidney cancer to colon cancer
Last July 2012 was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Had surgery and a long recovery time due to prior healtlh issues and now July 2013 I had a colonoscopy last week and got path report and Doc phone call to tell me I have stage 1 colon cancer. I have routine colonoscopys every 3 years due to always have at least 2 polyps adenomas at that. Went into this scope last week with not a clue that I would have cancer. The best part of this is md removed the large polyp and when he looked at slides this morn with pathologist he said he got good margins and feels he has gotten it all. I was blessed as it has not spread into the other tissues. Scope again in 6 months. Just ask you all to remember me in your thoughts and prayers. Between cy scans for kidney and scopes for colon will keep me busy..

Colon Cancer
Brae,
Like you I have regular Colonoscopys because my mother is a Colon Cancer survivor. She had hers in the early 1970's and will be 92 later this year. She sure did not let a history of Colon Cancer slow her down although she stopped driving a couple of years ago.

Iceman i can't get much slower lol just kidding. But I guess this is proof that regular screenings can lead to early detection. However doc did scope 3 months earlier this time d/t my having pain in ribs and rght side. I'm so relieved it turned out the way it has. Have a wonderful day.
