Judy - Keep in mind...
MRI of abdomen/pelvis is roughly 2-hours for test....one hour each with and without contrast...
If really closed in tight spaces don't bother you keep this time frame in mind....it gets really warm in there too.....not roomy like ct donout or pet scanner.
AND that time does not include the chest scan with and w/o either.
Just wanted you to be aware of this:)

So glad your last chemo was better than #11. You didnt have any mets before you started chemo, wasn't chemo for any mop up? Have fun with your reunion and girls trip. Let us know about your clear CT.

Great to finish treatment! aaaaahhhh hope you feel strong and are eating well or can get back to that. It took me a long while.
My chemo's were before and after surgeries so I have been lucky to have some breaks but it's a great feeling to have completed them.
Wishing you a clean scan and you won't have the need for a PET!
I have to call my oncologist because he said I would have a PET/scan soon but only ordered the scan. So much self advocay always!
I do pray for everyone one on the boards and will be thinking of you!
I love the smile in your picture and I bet you are fun to work and be with :-)
Wishing you the best and knocking out this beast!

The costs of scans in the USColoncancerblows said:My onc had scheduled me for a
My onc had scheduled me for a PET scan but insurance denied it so now we're doing the CT scan. I was so annoyed by that because I've heard a PET scan shows a lot more than the CT. So after I get the results from the CT, I'm going to pressure my onc to get a PET scan. I just want to be sure.
The costs of scans in the US is ridculous. In Australia I can get an MRI through the public system at no cost and with no issurance issues. There is a waiting list however for MRI. To avoid the wait, I often go to a private radiology clinic. The cost just $500 for a liver MRI, $750 for a full body pet.
While in europe, I get scans done in the czech republic. The cost of a PET there as an uninsured patient is about $600. In the US it would cost tens of thousands I believe.
