Near the end of my FOLFOX treatment this would happen to me. It was only on the soles of my feet then. I called it my Zing. Now, after my six week hook-up of 5FU, my hands and feet are totally numb, and the Zing goes clear up my legs.
I preffered it when it was just on my soles.
When you say your "six week hook-up" do you mean constantly for six weeks?.....

Yes! It pumped into me at first, every one minute, then near the end, every 30 seconds. Every day for five weeks. I would go in once a week to get flushed out and re-hooked.
I was really fretting this, but (other than the side effects) the pump was a doddle.
They un-hooked me last week, one week early because my neuropathy spiked. I was hoping relief would come quicklly, but it seems to be worse.. Not nice!

have Jason........
Have Jason stand up and then bend his neck like he's looking at his feet. Does he feel something in his feet and/ or legs when he does this? If so, he needs to alert his onc. I just assumed it was part of neuropathy and didn't realize it IS but is a sign of damage to the CNS.

I had him do what you said & he said it didn't bother him. He does have some disc issues in his neck from years ago, but he said that doing what you said didn't bother him, but thank you for letting us know about that! It's good to know for future reference!

Numb feet
The soles of my feet are very numb. The numbness didn't occur until after I finished my last chemo treatment. During the last couple of months of treatment and for about 4 months after treatment, I felt little shocking jolts throughout my body (especially when got anxious). I've been out of treatment since the end of last August. My fingertips and feet are still numb. I think I may have permanent damage. I wish I would have known this was going to happen while I was in treatment. I would have told my Oncologist about it. Talk to your doctor before it progresses.
