ED facts and experiences

I recently had a radical prostatetectomy...I'm not quite at the 3 month anniversary. I've tried cialis but so far doesn't seem to work, at least not when I'm awake...I've had a couple of nocturnal erections but that's it....Is the fact that I can have an erection when I'm asleep a good sign? Does that imply that maybe I'll eventually be able to have one when I'm awake? Just what is the relationship between these two types of erections? Hopefully with all the men out there who've been through this someone will also have had this experience. thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge and experience.

You Should Be Fine -- Give it Time

I'm surprised that no one has responded to you yet.  Here's a quote from a urological site that should be reassuring to you:

"Monitoring erections that occur during sleep (nocturnal penile tumescence) can help rule out certain psychological causes of ED. Healthy men have involuntary erections during sleep. If nocturnal erections do not occur, then ED is likely to have a physical rather than psychological cause."  See: http://www.urolassoc.com/conditions-erectile-dysfunction.html

So, if you can get nocturnal erections, you should be able to get one while awake as well.  My question to you is how rigid does your nocturnal erection get and how long does it last before you pee?  If it's rock hard and lasts long, it should bode well for your recovery.

Be patient.  It's only been 3 months since your surgery and ED recovery time is often estimated at a year or more.

I agree it is a good sign on

I agree it is a good sign on the nocturnal erections. I've found that Levitra works the best for me so try some of the other meds besides cialis.

Also amount of food in your stomach etc impacts me.
