Hello
I just jumped in and started replying to some posts on the site without even introducing myself. I'm Cheryl and I had a lumpectomy a few weeks ago and started my rad treatments this week. I was diagnosed with infiltrating ductal and ductal carcinoma in situ. I am ER and PR positive and HER2 negative. My oncologist has discussed tamoxifen after I finish rads.
I'm married to the greatest man in the world and we have a wonderful son and the most beautiful granddaughter ever. I know I am partial, but, if a mom and grandmother can't be, who can.

Hello back!
Cheryl, it's nice to meet you and I know you will find this site so helpful, so informative and sometimes even very entertaining. lol
It's a wonderful group of pinkies ( pink sisters and 2 pink brothers ) that will support and help you in anyway that they can.
I don't know how you could be married to the greatest man in the world as I am. lol I guess there must be more than one, huh?

Welcome Cheryl to the site that none of us wish we ever had to join. And hopefully someday, it won't exist, as cancer will be wiped out!
Wishing you good luck with rads. There are some others here that are going through them too, so, you will have lots of help.
Hugs, Noel

Thanks for making me feel so welcome. I hope I do fine with rads and do not burn. I just hate though that it will take weeks to finish.

One of the good things about this site, there is no set protocol. LOL Just jump in, tell us about you, or, just read the posts for awhile, then reply. Everyone is welcome!

Warm Welcome, Cheryl!!!
Though I regret why you're here...
This is the very best online place to be for support & encouragement. I certainly believe so. And am sure most, if not all, would agree. An amazing group.
Kind regards, Susan

I had DCIS but no chemo or radiation.Just tamoxifin for 5 years. My tumor was 1/2 centimeter.Very small. I'd had benign breast tumors since i was 20 and dx at 62 just months after my grandson elbowed me in the breast that had benign tumors for years.I acted quickly(went to the doctor) because of the pain and in 5 months my mammo was due.Cancer was found.I truly believe the hard blow caused it besides a big family history.Mom niece me and my sister. You just know. It's evident with our family history and then a blow.
My friend had chemo and radiation with Stage 3 cancer .Chemo was hard but radiation was doable.Just used creams for the burns.
Best of luck with your treatment.
