I just wanted to say that no one is invincible to cancer....
I came across this story about Steve Perry (ex lead vocalist for the group Journey) and his girlfriend and it just made me cry. I've always been a fan of Steve Perry's and have followed his life. As much good that had come to his life, equally there was as much bad. He had a rough life as a child growing up poor, lost his mom (very close to her) while on tour.. then this.....
He was diagnosed with one of the deadliest skin cancers (Melanoma) just months after losing his girlfriend to breast cancer that metastasized to her lungs, bones, and finally brain. Sad story.
Anyways, I know this cancer is unrelated to our H & N cancers but I just wanted to share that none of us are invincible to cancer.....even our ROCKSTARS! 
....we're not alone.

I'm in the CD manufacturing business and the company I work with did the CD for Michaele Salahi (gf of Neal Schon of Journey). They came in together a while back to order more of her CD's (it's awful! ~lol~)... I've always thought of Neal as one of the better rock players out there so it was cool to meet him. Nice guy too.. and believe it or not, Michaele is a sweetheart. She knows exactly what she's doing... not a dumb bone in her body.

I think almost everyone I've encounted in my life has been touched in one way or another to cancer. When I see a shooting star in the evening skies....my wish is always for a cure to be found. Thanks for this post. Katie

Cancer will attack anyone
Cancer has no boundries except for the ones we create with our battle. I still listen to alot of Journey from the Steve era. I'll be alright without you and Girl can't help it are two songs I can never hear enough of. I know he hangs out at the ballpark in Frisco and I had the chance to go see a game last June. Being a Phillies fan the only reason I would have went was to see if he was there and get him to sign my Phillies shirt.

Those are two of my favorites and so is Stay Awhile and I Stand Alone...he's got an amazing voice.
So glad he was willing to share some of his cancer story with us. So many celebrities keep that stuff very private...
Bummer you didn't get to catch him at the ballpark. Are you from the area?

I read somewhere you're from the Philly area? I was originally from the S Jersey/Philly area. I saw them at The Tower Theater in '77... It was... get this... Van Halen, Journey and the headliner was Montrose

Yep, as I stated above from Bernville, PA.just outside Reading the once outlet capitol of the world.
Great concert. Montrose "Get on your bad motorscooter and ride". I was at the Tower once to see Todd Rudgren. I saw alot of concerts at the old Spectrum. My feelings have always been anyone can make a studio album, I was always impressed how someone was live. My erars are still ringing from a Robin Trower show in Allentown, PA. back in the 70"s.
