Ok so I go for my regular OB/GYN check up and I had an ovarian ultrasound. Nothing Thank God but my Doctor sent me for a CT scan anyway.

Now I was told I have liver cysts so I sent the CT scan to my oncologist. See my Doc tmro....

Anyone else have these???

I heard it natural and more common in women.......

Your thoughts..

    i have one

I have a liver cyst and have had it for over ten years. The dr said I have a fatty liver. They dont seemed concerned about it throughout all my cancer treatments.

    cysts on liver

I had multiple low density lesions on my liver.  My doctor said that it was not unusual.  However, to be sure I have had a ct scan every year for the last 3 yrs. and there has been no change. They are benign hepatic cysts.  Hope this helps.

    Thanks so much!!

Yes this was a big help!!! I really appreciate you're replies!!!! I was told today its a small one and the Drs are not concerned....

Whew...I started to get upset but now I'm ok. Sometimes just the slightest thing can set me right back to when I was first diagnosed.

    I guess thats normal too.

They weren't kidding when they refer to all of this as the "New Normal" right?????

    Hi

    Hi Patrice,

My husband said that when I was diagnosed that "cancer gave a worrier something to always worry about".  Boy was he right!  No matter how much we try, we know that this disease is sneaky, so we worry.  I am so happy the doctors said they are not concerned about the liver cyst, but only now will you be able to breath again.  Anyone who says I worry too much when I get an ache, a pain or an unusual test result has never been diagnosed with cancer.

    So glad all is well.

    Don't they remove these

Don't they remove these cysts?  Cauterize them or something?

    To Kobias

No, they go away on their own.  I have had cysts on my liver, ovaries, thyroid and somewhere else.  They usually find them because we have ct scans.  Otherwise, we all be blissfully unaware of them.  However, one is always afraid before one is stage IV that it will turn out to be something, so the worry.

    Best,

    For Patrice

    Dear Patrice,

I understand the worry.  When I was 1/2 year out of treatment, I had pain and a ct scan was ordered.  They found 3 things, a cysts on my liver, an enlarged endometrium and a rip in the mesh of the hernia repair.  All I heard was liver and something on it.  I went nuts until an ultra sound said it was a cyst.  Sounds goes through cysts but not tumors.  This was 1995 and I have never heard any referrence since that day in spite of the many liver scans I have had about the cyst.  I imagine like it came on, it left.

In that case, my real problem causing pain was the rip mesh on the hernia repair.  The intestine would slip through and twist causing me excrutiating pain.  I did eventually have the mesh fixed.

The enlarged endometrium (lining of uterus) became a real problem when I began to bleed 4 years later.  Eventually a D&C took care of the problem, a gift of Tamoxifen.

    Best wishes to you,

    Doris
