A new problem. I finished up my rad treatments last week.
I had my last check up with my rads doctor , but now seeing the Oncologist and surgeon. Seeing these two really upset me. I did my full body scan and will know the results after Tuesday. My doctors said if the cancer has spread or affected other areas, they didn't think they would do anything else like chemo or surgery. They acted like I was old and poor so I should just give up. No I can't hand out the money and maYbe 67 is old, but does that nean give up. Even if it would be two years I still want to try ,then if I can't then I can give up. I want to spend as much time as posible with my family and have talks with my grandson, am I wrong on wanting to live? It was a look as though I took up time and space. Do you think I am wrong? Now I am broke out in a rash covering my body that is itching badly. They told me to use Benadryle they didn't know what was causing it and thats it. So I have this rash I want to scratch so bad that I don't know what to do about it. I go back Tuesday for my results . I am still burnt some, but a Lot better, still hurts a lot. It probably will be drained again. Sorry for talking so much but I have not felt good with the rash, itching, nausha and hurting and them talking as if they just didn't want to do anymore has made me sorta down in the dumps . Everything hit me last week after seeing them. Can you give me any advice? Should I just give up? Thanks for listening and any help is appreciated. Thanks again and hugs for everyone.

NO! Do not give up! Contactcoco2008 said:Sorry this is happening to you
I think if your current doctor is not planning any more tx you should #1 ask why and #2 get a second opinion. Good luck in finding a doctor that cares.
NO! Do not give up! Contact the American Cancer Society and see if they can help you. There should be someone at the cancer center or hospital that you can talk to about this. Keep trying to get someone to help you.

No you are not wrong.
I would get a second opinion. I would also find out why thry are saying no more treatment. In my case, I understand why.
But if you do not agree, call another doctor, go pick up copied of your records and see someone else.
Just hoping for good results on Tuesday!

CarolThis bothers me as if you don't need more treatment because you're old.I'm close to your age(66) and old to me is 95.Not in the 60, 70 or 80 range. In the 90's maybe your body couldn't take the treatments.
My husband keeps telling me they're going to stop treatment on those 70 or older with the health plans.I believe this. And it scares me.Sound's like it started.
More for all of us to worry about. For those of Us almost 70 and older.

I went to see my fanily doctor today, I see him once a month. I had to go ealyt because I was itching so bad and my body was covered in the rash. I just wanted to dig my skin because of the itch, He gave me a perscription, and said it should help and let him know. He has talked to my cancer doctors . They told him my other health conditions such as COPD, heart disease, bad diabetic and the type of chemo that my body wouldn't be able to stand it. but shouldn't I get the chance to try and quite if it starts getting me down, and why didn't they say that? He did say because of age also. He said the goverment is making it hard .He said the doctors was stating facts about my health and agreed they should have had a bed side manner. I go back Tuesday to get my scan results. If they come back okay, I won't have to worry for a while. This cancer I recieved from the radiation I took after my lumpectomy five years ago. It is called Angiosarcoma cancer, it is really radiation cancer. It always comes back, its rare and not much works against it. From August 2012 till February 2013 I had four surgerys between these times because it kept coming back. I will be drained again. I will let you know the results after Tuesday. I thank everyone for there help. Thank you again prayers and hugs for everyone.

It shouldn't matter what age you are. You're a human being that needs professional and courteous care. I hope you can get a clearer explanation as to why they are saying this to you. If not, please do get a 2nd opinion.

You've really been treated unfair and it isn't right. I keep watching for an update from you. I really hope your itching is gone now and that you've been able to speak to another oncologist.
Gentle hugs,
Megan

I am still in radiation treatments and I know it is very hard. I hope you get some help. I think you may need some new doctors though.
