I got path report from my second surgery
And it's good, all new taken nodes were clear, except sentinel node which was positive after first surgery. Very happy about that!
So now I have to wait for treatment plan from medical board. There are two options: Tamoxifen or Tamoxifen + chemo. I had right side mastectomy with expander, I had two tumors, one IDC, one ILC, both ER 100%, HR 90%, HER2 negative, grade 2, one positive lymph node. If they don't decide for chemo, do you feel I should be ok with it? I don't want to do chemo, but I want to do as much as I can to prevent reocurrance.
We will decide what to do with my left breast after chemo if I will have one. I am a bit worried what's going on in my left breast since we can't do MRI because of expander which contains metal. I will also call genetic counceling to be tested for BRCA, since my sister also has BC.
Take care everyone, Carmen

That is good news. I agreeroseann4 said:Are you having the oncotype dx test?
That test will help with the decision. The test is used with node negative cancers.
I did not have chemo based on the results of that test and feel it was the right decision for me.

That is good news. I agree with Roseann, can they do the Oncotype DX test? Ask your oncologist about it.

and I haven't heard for that test before. I'm not sure they are doing it here. I've met quite some women with BC and noone mentioned it. I guess I'll wait to see what they have decided.
Thanks, Carmen
Ask your onco about the oncotypeDX test, anyway! If must be available to you, too. Linda
