Wow!
This is great! I am not sure I will be able to get to what would be my first one, June 7. I have found being past the surgery (2/12), the chemo (7/12), and the radiation (9/12) has made the thought of having cancer somewhat surreal. It's not that I don't have constant reminders -- physically, I do. Now that I am getting, via mail, invitations to cancer events is something I am having to get used to. Sometimes I think I want to go; other times I think that I am not quite sure I am ready to do that.
My husband and I were at one of these events a few years ago for a friend of ours. It was a neat experience. Interestingly, about the time the survivor lap was to start, there was a very clear double rainbow in the sky, as there was a quick, light rain shower. Wow!

I hope your weather was good and that you had a good time. I know it can be very emotional. Let us know Donna how it was.
Thanks Donna,

I had a great time but
I had a great time but it rained and rained and rained.
My hubby and I joined my grandson's team from his high school. It has been a long time since I was around that may teenagers all at one time but they were are all good. Just loud and busy for my old fart self. What really got me was that they did not mind at all walking in the rain and having sword fights with balloon swords in the rain. I think the team all liked that I brought them some homemade cookies and peanut butter fudge to help keep their energy up.
I gave hats to all the survivors that wanted one, grandson and team helped with passing them out.
When walking the Survivor Lap, I saw some survivors on the side lines and encouraged them to join in while we walked. There was a line of us holding hands and walking. Mind you this was before it started raining. You wouldn't get me out there with out an umbrella otherwise.

I have 20 to give away right now. I made 2 afghans that I placed in the Silent Auction at our Relay for Life. I think one of them sold but not sure yet. I have put pics of the afghans on my expressions page.
