stage changes after surgery???? y so many

I was resently diagnosed with stage 1b2 surgery is set for may 6th...i see alot of you have alot more findings after surgery is this something i should be worried about??? Im getting so nervous

    Sorry that you have had this diagnosis.  With cervical cancer your stage never changes from the original diagnosis despite surgical findings.  But...the prognosis and treatment changes that can correlate with an upstage.  Have you had a pet/ct?  Is your cancer squamous or adenocarcinoma?  Lots and lots of women are notupstaged after surgery,  so relax and hope for the best.  I will pray for an easy surgery and recovery and a complete cure for you.  Hugs.
