Chemo protocols

We have consulted several oncologists and realize that nearly every one is involved in a clinical trial of some kind.  Has anyone heard of a new profocol where Stage II and III patients will have 6 weeks of chemo first, then 6 weeks of chemo/radiation prior to having surgery?  What has been your experience?  How well was the 12 weeks of chemo tolerated?  Was the healing period between the end of chemo/radiation and surgery lengthened because of the additional weeks of treatment?  How long was surgery ultimately delayed?

    I was stage 111 five years

    I was stage 111 five years ago, and underwent chemo before surgery. My doctor does not use radiation on his EC patients. I started chemo in December and had surgery in May. It is best to have treatment before surgery, because it helps to get rid, or shrink the cancer. Surgery should always be done even if the scan shows it is gone.  Different doctors follow different protocols. I am the only one on here that didn't take radiation. I am now concidered cured ( five year mark)
