Make sure your mom gets to a major cancer center so that she can be seen by gi/colorectal specialists.  They know of options general oncologists and oncologic surgeons don't know about or don't have experience with.

    Ditto!

I went for a second opinion at Vanderbilt and am so glad I did!

PI was diagnosed with stage 2B ductal pancreatic adenocarcinoma and went through the Whipple procedure. My surgeon at Vanderbilt resected my portal vein to ok sure negative margins. I don't beliethe another surgeon would have done that.

Second opinions are a must, in my opinion, when you have a rare cancer.

Best of luck...I'll keep you in my thoughts.
