DCA (Sodium Dichloroacetate)

Recent medical trials have proven that Sodium Dichloroacetate (also known as DCA) can reactivate the mitochondria and restore the cell’s apoptosis function.  The result is shrinkage of tumor size and mass, sometimes reversal of illness and remission. There are several financial reasons why DCA is not and never will be patented or FDA approved for cancer tx. However there are multiple case studies and anecdotal evidence showing that DCA + caffeine (tea) are effective for some advanced cancer patients. Its only side effect is neuropathy counteracted by vitamin B1 (Thiamine). Hey, Alexandra ! Have you used DCA yourself ? What were the results ?

I myself found a great deal of info on http://www.dcaguide.org/dca-information.
My friend's grandmother used this on her non-small cell lung carcinoma and it was a random choice which granted her a ton of luck. She is still taking care of her garden.
I can't even imagine what happened but since then I've been spending a lot of time researching this stuff.

So, I'm just curious - anyone else tried this stuff ?

Is it combinable with chemo such as fluorouracil ? (I think that I've read somewhere that you cannot combine this with doxorubicin)

I'm sorry, but Alexandra is not longer with us.  I have used a number of alternative/integrative treatments, along with conventional, and experienced excellent results.  I have been NED for 7+ years after a stage III diagnosis and subotimal debulking.  My advice, based on my experience, is to consult with a naturopath or functional medical doctor with oncology experience.  This is a very complex disease and trying something randomly can do more harm than good.

Thank you, Tethys41, for posting "This is a very complex disease".  That is very true.

Also, I recently received a PM from someone who was offended when I posted someone "is no longer with us".  Well you have been with the board since 2010 and I have been on the board since 2013, so we really do know who we have lost and are just trying to be kind in our response.  

Thank you for your continued checking on the chat boards.  There are some of us who are lucky to be able to do that.

It's very quiet over here these days.  But once in a while someone new pops in.  We know how hard this all is and not getting an answer when you need one is just added stress.  Thanks for keeping tabs too, NTFC!
