Yervoy treatments - 4 doses recommended but why more?

My Mother's oncologist is having her have additional Yervoy every 3 months. My Mom has a hard time right after the treatments and we don't even know if she has melanoma any longer after taking 6 doses of Yervoy. Does anyone have any experience of over 4 doses of this drug? I am trying to find where something says the treatment with Yervoy should be extended for 2 yrs.
