Day #1 off 100mg Prednisone
Well folks....Sue warned me....Day #1 off the 100mg of prednisone and I fell asleep in a box at work...lol....Thats right, sat down to rest for a minute and literally fell into the box and fell asleep. Oh well, I didn't feel much like working yesterday anyway. I hope you all can find as much humor in this as I did.

Pred crash...
Hi Carie,
At least you fell asleep in a box and not in your car while driving! My last day for the pred was on Saturday mornings and on Sunday I was limp as a noodle all day long. We NEVER made plans for Sunday after the pred week. Each day you will feel better, but you still need to remember that the chemo accumulates in your system as you go through each 21 day cycle, so be prepared for many TIRED days...with or without the pred. Hang in there sweetie...it will all be over before you know it. Love you...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10-age62)

I know Pred affects us all in different ways. I was doing Lionel Richie's "Dancing on the Ceiling" all night long when I was on Crazy PRED. John
John,
I would pay $ to see you immitating Lionel Richie...I am always up for some good entertainment, and when it is at someone else's expense it makes it that much better. I am not going to lie, I kinda enjoyed the extra energy, people pay good money to get that "high". I have been so sleepy since september, that it was nice to actually get stuff done.

Sue,
LOL...you warned me, but apparently I have to learn everything the hard way. I am actually surprised that they didn't take pictures of me, I would've if it was someone else...I think the people I work with can't seem to get the idea that the secret is out and I am aware that I have CANCER...I am hanging in and trying to enjoy every moment that comes my way. I am blessed to have a great support system and a few friends that have been amazing and understand my "sick" sense of humor. I am ready for the tired days, it is an excuse to get the day off from work.
How are you loving that remission?? What an amazing thing huh? I am right on your heels with that, get ready for me!!
Love

I loved "Lost in Space" (the original TV series) when I was a kid. It seems kind of silly when I see it now and funny. "Warning Will Robinson, Carie is in space" .

It seems while I was dancing on the ceiling my objective was to come down next to the refridgerator and I mean "ALL NIGHT LONG"

The pred didn't put an ounce of weight on me. I had to really push it during chemo to not let my weight go down too much. I was on the pred for 5 days after chemo treatments. On about day 7 is when I would crash. After the 1st time, I planned ahead so my groceries would be stocked up and I could just heat & eat food, no prep involved. Course I had some days I just wanted to sleep too but was usually awake enough for a few hours to eat something.
Amazed that you can work during treatment. I have Sjogrens which made/makes me double susceptible to get "stuff". That and the dr not being able to tell me how I'd feel, I opted for the 6 month disability and glad I did. I learned to make meals ahead, get groceries & meds delivered and how to do things in the home when parts didn't want to work. Wrenched both thumbs badly for 1 month and 2 espisdes of using a walker for awhile. I am solo too, no family, but I did have a cousin come visit from Wisc.
Just keep patting yourself on the back on getting through each daily obstacle. It sure ain't easy but you can get through it.
