Get to the specialists nowAmber_Lyn said:Appt May 8th
It's finally almost here! my swelling has gotten worse and my arm seems weak Now. Lots of pain and new pain in my chest towards the middle just to the right of my breast . I am hoping the breast surgeon will have answers and will schedule a MRI! Thank you all for the support and encouragement to fight to get answers!
You said things had gotten worse. Be firm and insist or go to someone else. Make them listen. Still could be an infection, but go with your gut feeling. Mine does not show up on mamos. MRI is the way to go. We are all routing for you, please tell us how things go. Hoping this is not cancer and just a scarey moment, then at least your mind will be put at rest. I did have not so much pain but aching in one breast and itching in the other, swelling, both at different stages same cancer type. I knew something was wrong after years of negative mamos. Good luck.

I just know in my heart something is wrong and not normal. I'm so tired of hearing everyone say "it's not serious since there was no lump found on mammo and cancer doesn't present with pain"!!!!! Maybe it isn't cancer but something is wrong!!!!! I am going to think the worst but not let it consume me. If I go in thinking its nothing and get bad news I will be crushed! If I go in thinking the worst but get good news I will be so happy! When I went to my gyn appointment I had convinced myself it was just strained muscle or something like that so when I left with all these referrals I was scared and freaking out! I will go into this next appointment armed with strength from you women and knowledge from the research I've done! Thank you everyone!

I had pain in my left breast soon after my grandson nudged me.Very painful. Got in to see the doctor. He didn't feel a lump.My mammo was due in 5 months.I went in for the mammo and a small tumor was found. The left breast was the side I've had quite a few benign tumors and a cyst,This tumor was cancer. I was shocked.I believe the blow to my left breast caused my cancer plus it was a breast that had benign tumors in the past. Thankful it was caught early.Lumpectomy, no chemo or radiation and take tamoxifin for 5 years.I was dx 4 years in July.
Get the pain checked out. The saying "cancer doesn't hurt." It does!!!!!

Update
I had my appointment and still have no resolve . I was sent for an emergency ultrasound of the veins in my neck and arm area to rule out a blood clot. Results were negative. Next is an MRI of both breasts. But again the surgeon said that she has been a doctor for 30 years and only two patients presented with pain and had breast cancer. she doesnt feel that this is a case of breast cancer... Now the problem is sitting and waiting for the insurance precert for the test! Sometimes the waiting is the worst!

But, the good news is that you will get a MRI. I think that is the smartest thing to do Amber. It will hopefully answer any questions for you and your doctor.
Darn insurance! I hope they approve it soon.
Good luck and keep us updated,
Megan

I am so sorry Amber that you still don't have this resolved. Glad to know it wasn't a blood clot. I have heard of several that had pain and it turned out to be bc. Not that I want to scare you, but, it isn't as rare as your doctor makes it sound.
Good luck with the MRI. Post any information about it when you can.

New/worsening symptoms
I just don't know what to do! Today my symptoms have gotten worse . My swelling is now from my breast all the way up my neck! you can't even see my collarbone on that side! my breast and upper arm are still very swollen too. My husband wants me to go to the Er but I think they are just going to tell me to see my dr. It seems like whenever I'm active the swelling gets bad. I did the breast cancer walk on Mother's Day and then Monday I was sore and swollen a little worse then usual. Now on Saturday we went to a town yard sale so we were walking a lot and getting in and out of our truck a lot. Today has been the worst as the was welling has ever been. I'm at my wits end!
