Birthday and up at 4 am

Hey everyone. Just thought I'd let you know I got the port, did the ultrasound guided biopsy and day one of chemo done yesterday. I go back this morning for 2nd day chemo. Am hoping all goes well bit I did get a happy surprise this morning. Got up t 4 am noticed the egg sized lump in the airmpit went down to a jellybean size Woo Hoo!!
Gotta hope the rest of them shrank too. I am hoping if I do have any side effects that they wait till over the weekend when I don't have to do anything and can enjoy my birthday weekend,
I hope everyone is doing well and not dealing with major crisis. I'll keep you all updated.
Thanks
Beth

Happy Birthday.
Happy Birthday and wish you well. Is just I am confused reading your profile, is this a relapse ? and why it took so long for the treatments.
Hello Bill,
Oh heavens yes it's a relapse. I've been dancing with this stuff since April 7th 2006 and been through a lot of treatments. I started out with it in my groin, then to hip, then to armpit, close to spine, and lung, then back to armpit, then armpit again and armpit, clavicle and other armpit, with some infiltration possibly to tricep muscle.
I am currently on my 6th round of cancer in 7 years. I am relapse queen unfortunately. I have done cvp&r, radiation, rituxan only for quite a while, rice, auto transplant using BEAC chemo, radiation, and now treanda. I think that's it.
How are you?

Egg to Jelly Bean
Beth, that is incredible that your under arm lump went from egg size to jelly bean size in 1 day! I know that made you feel happy!
I love those ultrasound guided surgeries. At my hospital the doctors are called interventional radiologists. I've have 7 procedures done that way, with varying degrees of wakefulness. So much better than complete anesthesia. For my port, which took about 35 minutes. I was completely awake; one produre I was completely asleep.
With such a positive start, maybe this will be your ticket. I sure hope so.
(((Hugs))) and happy birthday!

Happy Birthday my dear! What a deal! You are such an amazing woman and it just blows me away everything you have and are still going through. I will keep praying that your treaments go well and each new drug will continue to beat the crap out of those lumps. One of these days they are going to disappear and NEVER come back.
