Upcoming Scan
Hello All
We its that time again...going in for another scan next week. Scan on tues and results on friday. For those who dont know I had B cell NHL. Did 11 rounds of chemo then an auto stem cell transplant. After the transplant I had the all clear given which was of course heaven sent. But the scans give me so much anxiety. To top it off last night I had to go to the ER for a high fever and flu like symptoms, was diagnosed with a sinus inefection and given antibiotics. During the night my fever broke and I woke up sweaty. I keep reminding myself that this is isolated and that it has nothing to do with "C". But of course I have these annoying thoughts that the sweats from last night were really a Night Sweat and not my fever breaking. Its just really rotten timing to get sick right before a scan, as if its not stressful enough. This site and the wonderful people that are members of it are such a wonderful refuge and source of strength. I am asking for positive thoughts and prayers as I prepare for my upcoming scan.
Thank you and much love to you all

Hey coachmike! Yeah, I get scanxiety before every scan. I don't recall where you live but season is changing so sinus issues come with the territory. I'm sure the antibiotics will kick in soon and you'll be feeling better. Every time I get sick, I think about the big C- which is probably normal. We are so changed after this experience.
Sending you mountains of positive thoughts and energy and of course an unlimited supply of hugs! Keep us posted and I hope you're feeling better soon, buddy. Good luck on your scan as well!

i live in va but have traveled to sc and nc where the pollen is really getting heavy, and the dr seems to think that the onset of my allergies caused the infection...i hear that but that voice in my head just doesnt seem to want to listen, ugh

We know exactly how you feel. Not only about the scan but everytime Bill gets the slightest thing I have anxiety. He is just getting over that fluish cold/cough that is going around, so I can relax now. If it's anything near lymphoma symptons like your sweating at night, it has to be unnerving. Try to relax. If they were real symptoms, it would be odd that they would show up just in time for your scan. Hang in there and let us all know your good news when you get your good results!
Our thoughts are with you, Bill & Becky

You always have my best wishes for a lifetime (long, many.... Yrs) clean results... My Dad's wishes would have been the same for you... How I wish we would be following your clean scans with my Dads years after years... I think of you often but its still so hard.. Missing Him more and more as time goes and yet doesn't feel like He's gone maybe because there isn't a moment I don't think of my wonderful Dad... Life is like a dream... It is true God gives patience as no one could survive loosing loved one..There's nothing one can do... I'm sure your scans will come back clean.. Wouldn't worry about your recent episode of fever sweat etc.. Responding to antibiotics... Which is a signwhatever it is it's benign... Please dont drain yourself with worries... Pray and think positive...

I also thinkDaddyGirl
I also think about you and your family. Your fathr and I went in right at the same time, and im so sorry that the transplant brought on so many complications. I prayed so very hard for him and I still struggle as to why he was taken away.
Thank you for the prayers, I am trying to remain positive that everything will come back clean

Today I met with my oncologist at MCV cancer center. The results from my scan are in. The waiting period for the outcome brings a sense of fear and stress that attempts to overtake every aspect of your life. My doctor comes in and states, "your scans look great!" The relief that comes from those words are incapable of expression. My life is so wonderful and while this may seem a little crazy to say, having fought for my life made me realize how much of a blessed life I really have. Thank you all for your love support and prayers.
