but I have been reading the posts from some of y'all and I am just not getting what this "clear cell" thing is and how it is related to UPSC.  Mine was "poorly differentated".  Some one school me!  debrajo

We're both in the same quandry on the clear cell stuff.  I read things and don't always come back to ask what it might be, but glad you brought this to the table as love to understand more as well.

Clear Cell

My original diagnosis was ENDOMETRIAL BIOPSY: - POORLY DIFFERENTIATED ENDOMETRIAL CARCINOMA WITH CLEAR CELL FEATURES. It was later superceded by the pathology report from my surgery with serous carcinoma. 

In my pre-op surgery appointment my surgeon told me I had an unusual variant of endometrial cancer that was very aggressive. That was a comment based on the clear cell diagnosis. I have seen clinical trial studies where they use both clear cell and UPSC patients to get a high enough study population because both types are not common.

 From what I understand clear cell cancer and UPSC are two different forms of cancer, although both are rare, high grade and aggressive.

Another rare and high grade cancer is mixed mullerian, or uterine sarcoma.

All three are distinctly different as far as the cell type, but are all classified as high grade and treated aggressively.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Thanks all of y'all!  Went back and read my path. report x3 and no where does it mention clear cell.  Now, they didn't take ANY lymph nodes at all, but I'm going on a wing and a pray that it's only UPSC(WOW! ONLY UPSC!!!).  This journey has more curves than a bowl of spagettie!  Debrajo

This is what I've got and yes as few have mentioned one of the aggressive ones.  Sounds like the clear cell is the 3rd one outside of UPSC.  According to my doc, they generally have differenty type cells, and very aggressive.

Now that we're all "unconfused" we can go on until the next thing hits...lol~
