back on the merrygoround

Three weeks ago I started to get pain in between my legs in the groin area, it did not go away, had an appointment any way with the urologist due to the farce in October/November. I have had prostatitis before and had an enlarged prostate that was shaved down in November. I figured it was just another round of prostatitis (infection) doctor did a urine sample test and said that no infection was found, not all prostatitis is because of infection. He did the finger test on me and said I had a "bump" om my prostate and set me up for a needle biopsy in three weeks with the results in May. I went to him a few days later as I was not getting any better, he prescribed an antibiotic and said that there was a mistake that I did have an infection but because of the bump he wanted a biopsy as it could be cancer. I have had larynx cancer, lung cancer and am doing fine except for the prostate, when will it ever end. I called my oncologist in Hershey Medical Center to see if he could get me in to get a second opinion from the Penn State urologist, he worked his magic and I go this Friday. Prostate biopsoes are the worst kind, you bleed forever, and I have to stop my plavix and aspirin 14 days in advance, no garlic also !!!. So here we go again, prayers needed one more time. Denis

For some reason this thread is not showing when I log in, CivilMatt, I think it will be okay too Matt, it feels like, seems like and talks like prostatitis.

    Thanx

Thank you all, I know this is not the proste cancer board but I don't want to go there, would rather stay with the H&N family. Go this coming Friday for another opinion at Penn State Hershey Med Center. I do believe it will be prostatitis, and I really want to avoid a biopsy if I can.

    Hi Denis

Just got back in town and read this thread.  Crap, man, you and I just keep getting the curveballs to hit, it seems sometimes.  OTOH, I think its about been covered in this thread. You have every reason to expect infection.  You have the history for it, and it HURTS.  Prostate cancer isn't painful.  Keep your chin up, man.   I'm on plavix and aspirin, too, as a result of this dang occular stroke I had a few weeks ago.  I get a lot of questions about whether my wife is beating me, I bruise so much.  So a break has a few positives to offer as well.  You know how to handle this.  Just keep putting one foot in front of the  other.  You'll be fine.
