    Hi Patsie

    http://www.mdanderson.org/

The link above will give you some information about MD Anderson Cancer Center.  My understanding is that it has one of the best reputations in the country.

I live on the East Coast of the US, so it would be difficult to get there and, in addition, they do not accept the traditional Medicare A and B insurance plan, (which is what I have) just the Medical Advantage plan.

Hope the above info will be of use to you. Smile

    Hi Dorothy

Was thinking of going there for a second opinion since I know they are at the forefront and there are so many barriers to getting new medication here in the Uk. Do you think it's worth a visit? X

    I agree . . . .

I would second DorothyMarion's comment--I know it's one of the most highly regarded cancer centers in the US, and I know people who have traveled great distances for treatment there. It's one of 22 hospitals in the Natl Comprensive Cancer Network, which sets care standards nationwide.

Patsie, if you can afford the cost of the trip then I would say "yes", it would be worth your while to get that second opinion.
