Update
Hi All,
It's been a while since I have been in and thought I would give you an update ...
It's been two months off Tarceva. The first couple of weeks were pure hell and hubby truly believed that he was going to die during that time. He was far sicker than he had been on any chemo treatments - vomiting, felt as though his legs weren't working right, veering off to one side, disjointed thoughts, etc. I actually thought he may be having a stroke. But just as quickly as all the symptoms started they ended and he's currently riding a roller coaster of up and down feelings of doing pretty good to feeling pretty miserable and continues to cough up a lot of blood that started about a week after he started taking the Tarceva. He is now at a month and a week of no treatments. At the last doctor visit the doctor didn't even feel his glands, listen to his chest as he has always done in the past he just said "you look good, if you're still kicking in a couple of months come back and see me, if not let me know" - in and out in less than 3 minutes after a 52 minute wait in the waiting room and a 27 minute wait in the exam room.
My sister in law who has small cell lung cancer has been told her lung cancer has been "CURED" - course that makes no sense because they also tell her she now has cancer in her bones - skull, spine, and hips. Yep you guessed it - same doctor.
Hope you all are doing well as can be!
