    Lisa, it took 4 to 5 weeks for those sores to disappear for me, along with the dry labia area.  With only 3 radiation treatments left, I ended up spending a week in the hospital with 3rd degree anal burns, a boil like sore 2" out from the anal area (that drained in the hospital, recurred 2 months post treatment and was surgically removed 2 weeks ago in the surgeon's office), and those vaginal sores that you speak of.  At the end of my treatment, my surgeon instructed me to "dry out the area", at which point I stopped using most of the oilments that I'd used during treatment.  I tried to "air dry" the area (skirts), using a sitz bath to keep the acid in body waste from the area, the sports squirt bottle was great for when I didn't have time to soak with the sitz bath.  Oh, yeah, I was so sick of my own bathroom when the ordeal was over.  Don't forget the dilators if needed for stenosis of the vagina, I had to wait for the sores to heal for that.

    I'm also new here, only posted a few times, but it's a relief to find people who know what we've experienced and hopefully can shed some light on the path we are headed down.

    Did the dr give you pain pills? I also air dry the area with a fan. Call your dr and lehi him know what you are going through

    I found aloe gel to be a life, pain saver and still do. I used it for the anis and the vagina, wherever the pain was. it cools the tissues and helps heal naturally. I also used desitin baby ointment for areas around the anus.
