Research treatment - did anyone else have this?
Did anyone else have research treatment? What was the protocol? Any known side effects?
For me it was a combintion of chemo, I can't think of the drug names off hand. Plus a combination of radination to my head. Though test showed I had no cancer there. They had to follow the protocol. This was back in the early 80's. I was diagnosed with leukemia (ALL) in 1983. They radiation cause me to have a learning disability. Short term memory problem and difficulty comprehending even basic math. I bet you can tell that i had a blast in school. Horrible nightmare that it was, somehow I made it through and even went to college. Yay. Now if I could only get a job with my specific degree, interior design (love).
In my adult years I am noticiing more things that I suspect as side effects of my treatment. Thoug I've only had a diagnoses for risidual nerve damage. Would really like to find out what else is wrong with me due to my cancer treatment. I feel this is important for a better quality of life. There is no reason anyone should have to live life with things that could possibly be changed.
Please share your stories on your treatments and side effects.
