    suction machine?

DOn't the suction machines help suck all all the junk in the throat? Don't hear many being used.

    suction machine

I haven't used one for many years. At the hospital, when I mentioned it, it was suggested we see how other things work. Now I wish I had insisted.

    Thumbs up

Thumbs up for Mucinex.  I used a liquid generic version for about a month. My doctor said to take it only at night and use a humidifier in the bedroom. During the day, I got my exercise by running to the bathroom to spit out all the gunk. Swallowing it made me queasy. Pineapple juice was too acidic at that point. Milk products caused the mucus production to go into overdrive, so you might try eliminating them. As others have said, drinking lots of water helps, too. I was told you don't want to dry up completely because mucus is part of the healing process.
