Well, we complain when CSN is slow :) So thank you it's seems to now be fixed :)
Well the last two weeks the CSN site has really been easy to get on and I have had no errors or problems...and since it's our nature to complain when it's not easy....I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to those who have worked hard to get us back up.
I have been busy with the ski season here in resort town ...so I have not been on as much as I would like and when I do it's later in the evening ....
....but thank you Greta and all the others behind the scenes..

I too had problems with slowness and just went down completely....frustrating when you're wanting to check up on someone or reply. It's better today, however!! Hope it lasts!!

fast and slow
still bounces between fast and slow for me. but haven't seen any of the old error messages for quite a while, knock on wood.
there'd be an easy way to know if it had been fixed: in a perfect world, they'd post a message telling us and thanking us for our patience.

CSN update
I had posted the update below on many of the boards Wednesday when I learned that site performance was in decline again. It seemed best to delay posting more updates until I found out what was wrong. Apparently the site has been under heavy attack by spammers with some frequency and that there are numerous ways spammers can interfere with site performance. This was the top priority being addressed yesterday. I don't know the present status, but the site has been fine for me all day: I hope it's an indicator of good headway in dealing with the problem.
I apologize to everyone for not having communicated sooner. You have been more than patient under the circumstances.
At this point, all of the content that was missing following the upgrade has been restored with the exception of private messages. There has been an ongoing investigation for several weeks that has yielded variable findings. But to make a long story short, it appears that it will be possible to restore at least some messages. That is all that can be reported at the moment because the investigation is not finished. I just wanted to let you know that the level of effort being devoted to it has in no way diminished. It is well-understood how important the private messages are to you, and you can be assured that there is a strong commitment to reach the best possible outcome.
Another ongoing effort is improvement of site performance. The consensus seems to be that, overall, it is better now than it was prior to the upgrade. However, steps are being taken to further improve it in the next couple of weeks.
In the interim, other technical issues are being addressed as they are identified, and ways to improve responsiveness to technical concerns and better meet your needs in the future are being discussed. Additionally, we are planning a formal evaluation of CSN this year.
Thank you again for your patience.
Warmly,
Greta

Thanks...
Greta...., I did see your CSN Update on other boards a few days ago.... But too realize that like BSB says, performance has been a little spotty...
Most of the time it's much improved, but still on occasion can be slow...
Hopefully with continued efforts from IT and continued support, it'll improve even more...
Being here nearly four years now, I too had a lot of PM's from survivors no longer with us... But it is what it is, and nothing can be changed... I know that in no way would any messages had been lost if it were in your control..
And to the others that complimented you and the site, I agree as I have always, thanks Greta, you're the best...
Always~John
