Crying
Crying is not a bad thing. You are dealing with a difficult disease, and crying is one way to help you cope. Have you talked to the doctor or the chemo nurse about it? They might be able to give you something to help deal with your depression. Counseling might help, too. Cancer is scary stuff especially when you are so young. You are grieving for the life you planned, the one without cancer. That's perfectly normal, whatever normal is. Hang in there. Take care of yourself. Find someone you can talk to about your feelings. Know that many of us here are reading your post, and we care. Hugs, Fay

Of course you are sad and afraid. You would really need a psychologist if you weren't. Tell the doctor that your parents object to you talking to a psychologist. Ask him if there is a mild anti-depressant you could take to help you get through this. Come here and write to us when you need someone to talk with. By the way, I am old, too, but that doesn't mean I can't listen. I'm glad you have friends to support you and a teacher. Hang in there. Fay

A website suggestion for you
There is a website I have seen that is only for teens going through cancer. The website is one from the United Kingdom http://www.teenagecancertrust.org . There you will get to connect with other teens going through the same thing you are. I think maybe it would help you feel that you are not so alone. I am 63 years old, so it has been a very long time since I was a teenager. My husband has stomach and liver cancer. Our children are 33 and 30 years old. Although we all have the same need to be loved and understood, as a teen you have other special needs that someone much older does not. Where you get treatment probably has a special oncology social worker you can talk to. And, as Grandmafay has said, you can always come talk to us. In my heart I am always ageless. Hope this helps.
