Good News

Just wanted to share the good news I got today..... The PET Scan I had last week, 9 months post treatment, came out clear. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Thanks to everyone on this site for the sharing of your knowledge and experience in this fight. My best wishes to everyone of you, especially those of you undergoing treatment at this time..... I remember how tough it was, and hope that good news from a Stage III survivor might help someone as they are undergoing the rigors of the treatments.... God Bless.....

I am 4 years post treatment and can well remember my anxiety level for the first two years I had Pet Scans. It was such a relief when the results came back clear.
May you have many more years of great reports.
Mike
Thank you Mike! It gives me a sense of relief when I see numbers like 4 years. When this all started I thought I wasn't long for this world; I'm so glad I found this site. It has helped tremendously with my frame of mind!!! I wish you many, many more years of good health also!

Congratulations!
I love reading that another survivor has a clean scan. I think it gives all of us hope that we will be saying NED after our next scan. I was diagnosed stage 4 in 8/11 and have my next scan in a month (every 3 months). I have my CEA test on Thursday. It has been going up for months now and if it is up again this month, they may change my next scan from a CT to a PET to look for cancer that didn't show up on CT scan. I know I am still here because God answered all the prayers coming his way for me. Praying for a lower level on my CEA test Thursday.

I just wanted to wish you all the very best with your upcoming CEA. May it be improved over the last one. Also, I hope that your next scan will be a PET, which as we all know by now is a more sensitive test than the CT. In my case, my ins. co. is no longer allowing PET scans. However, if anyone meets the criteria for justifying a PET scan, it would be you, IMO. Please remind us next month when you are getting the scan and we will shower you with good thoughts and prayers.

I will put you in my prayers, Horsepad. I too think prayer is a powerful thing. What is a CEA test?
