Oh goodie you go girl. My husband has his blood test tomorrow. He had one treatment on 12/15. He lost some hair but the gal gave him a hair cut today and said wait til next treatment, it fell out some not much it is real thick so maybe he has a few more weeks of not being bald.

My daughter had really thick hair and lost quite a bit of it in the beginning on Folfox. That quit working after four months and she was switched to Folfiri and has been on it since around April of 2012. She hasn't really lost any more hair. Her hair is thinner now than before chemo, but she got it highlighted and a cute haircut and it looks fine. Maybe the rest of you (Winter Marie, Dyan's husband) will be the same way. Hope so!

For your husband's blood test tomorrow!!!! So glad there was Irinotecan.
If anybody has seen the latest Readers Digest, they are starting human trials on a VACCINE that could prevent colon cancer (among breast, etc.,) and if you have had chemo or radiation could still irradicate the colon cancer cells left over!!! I think it's called MUC1. February edition Readers Digest, page 157.
This is the most exciting thing I've heard in a long time. They have also, according to Readers Digest, found a couple of more ways to test for colon cancer other then colonoscopy that have been proven. But then again, they have published articles, about not getting too excited over MUC1, that's it's not one needle and done, apparently to small a comparison of patients. Such disheartening ones such as this article: http://scienceblog.cancerresearchuk.org/2012/04/10/misleading-reporting-of-the-wonder-jab-that-will-kill-90-of-cancers/ Alas, still hope is out there.

im so glad this is working for you.just hang on as with more treatments the side effects may get worse for me is was stomach cramps and diareah.my next scan is monday 14th to see how this xeloda is doing...Godbless.....johnnybegood
