spotting 2 weeks
hello, just curious if anyone had spotting for 2 weeks and what did you do about it?
I'm 52 and started hrt 5 months ago, no problems until 2 weeks ago when the spotting started. also started an anxiety med about 1 month ago so wondering if this could be cause. have another call into gyn and hoping we can do ultrasound.

Spotting? Hum...I had my head in the sand assuming it was peri-menopause. Plus thought since my yearly OB appt was 4 months away I'd be fine, as nothing. When I did finally see my OB (4 months later) he looked at me and said, "I have no idea what it is and surely don't want to see you in 6 months with the same issue". Directed me to other side of the office for vaginal ultrasound.
After what I went thru, get into the doc ASAP. We can all speculate, such as you're doing -- could be anxiety med???? Who knows, until one has a test.
Do you have some spotting every day? Is it red or pinkish? Guess it doesn't make any difference in either case, something that's NOT NORMAL, so need to have it checked out...plain and simple!
Sorry you're dealing with this, but you know it might be nothing.
Best to you,
Jan

Hi Ruffy! I am new to this
Hi Ruffy! I am new to this board and have found a wealth of information. I was spotting off and on for several months which I thought was related to frequent UTI's I get, but then I started to have a discharge, too. I hate dealing with gynelogical issues, but I knew something was wrong. I think anyone who takes the time to post questions suspects something may be off. My advice would be to get in to have some testing done ASAP...better safe than sorry!
Good luck!
Let us know how it turns out....

Thanks for your responses. Did you have any other symptoms or just spotting? Mine has been every day for the past 2 weeks - usually is pinkish but has been reddish also. Just strange, I've never had anything go on this long... even when I was having periods - the longest they lasted was 5-7 days but were very predictable. Gyn will be in the office tomorrow so they will call me back then. Well, hopefully, it turns out to be nothing serious. I feel fine just alot of fatique (nothing new), joint aches/pains (again nothing new). Have had some sharp pains lower pelvis (one day one side - next day other side) but they only last a couple of seconds and are not incapcitating. Weird since I had my right ovary removed 8 months ago... We'll see....

Ruffy, you have a history of cancer. Get checked ASAP. Do not be put off. Hope to hear from you tomorrow that you have an appointment scheduled for within a few days.

Hi again Ruffy....I just had
Hi again Ruffy....I just had the spotting and then the discharge started about a month before I went to see the GYN. However, in retrospect I have been more tired this past year that I attributed to moving for the 1st time in 15 years shortly after dealing with my husband's leg amputation. I had alot gong on in 2012! However, now I am thinking it was more than stress and I tend to minimize any minor aches and pains I have anyhow so now I am paying more attention to minor lower back pain, etc.as it could be the cancer speaking to me!
As mentioned above, get checked out as wondering can drive you crazy. Prayers are with you!
Kathy
