Ghost period???
Hello all. I am a uterine cancer survivor and i had my uterus removed as well as my tubes. The only thing i have left is my ovaries...now i need to ask....is there anyone (besides me) who has had their uterus removed that has a week every month when they are just completely and totally over emotional? As if you were on your period?? Cause i do. There will be one week in the month (I have been officially cancer free for about three months now) when i will be totally irrational and over sensitive and emotional and stuff, ALSO during that week i hot flash like you wouldn't believe! I dubbed those weeks the "Ghost period" weeks. Please tell me i am not the only one this happens to?

Hi Dani, you still up.too?
Hi Dani, you still up.too? You are perfectly fine...the organs that produce the hormons, you still have. All they took was the highway and the parking garage! You will still get the emotional baggage and the flashes are probably the chemo shutting down ovary production. Hold on, you are awfully young to have to deal with this and you are doing better than 2/3 of us and I'm old enough to be your grandmother! Relax. breath, and get some rest. You are in good hands here. Let us know what kind you had and the chemo-cocktail so others with your particular diease can talk to you about their experence. Sweet dreams! Best, Debrajo

What kind of cancer was in the uterous, what stage, and what grade(done from samples taken at surgery). Some have a whole lot better outlook then others. Also, did they do a test for Lynch syndrom ?Any other DNA tissue assays? It will make life a lot simpler if you know exactly what you have and what drugs you need to kill the cancer. A lot of people react badly to taxol, me , I have Uterine Papalliary Serous Carsonoma stage 1a, grade 3(or C the most agressive)and it is poorly differentiated. Ive had a radical hysterectomy(7 weeks after open heart surgery, another story), six rounds of taxol/carboplatin, and five internal radiations. I have been NED(No Evidence of Diease) 2 1/2 years. Let us hear from you! Best, Debrajo

I believe the it was called Carsinosarcoma. I was stage 1 b because the tumor was more that 50% through my uterine wall. I'm not sure if they did a check for lynch syndrom.

I believe you have the same thing several of the other ladies on here have. It's not my particular type of poison so I dont know a lot about it. If you have questions post them and mention Carsinosarcoma. Let us know what your plans are and where you are. Best, debrajo
