There's no place like home !
Things went well with the VATS/WEDGE resect of my right lung. I lost right around 10 % of the lung itself, and am on oxygen.....for .....???? I will be having a Lung PT person coming to the house a few times a week, until I'm back to a normal routine. Day 2 in hosp.....was tough (pain wise)....still needing to tweek this a bit so I can walk around and move. But all in all I had a wonderful staff of doctors and nurses working to get me home. The entire staff period was awesome....but won't have any results on pathology for a few weeks. Darn it. Another hurry up and wait scenario. If anyone has questions you can pm me....and I'll try to answer if I can. Glad to be back ! Katie

Welcome home Katie!!!
I thought about you everyday....amazing how close we all become on this board. As per usual, you are your upbeat self...you will always amaze me. Hoping they get the pain tweeked so you can move around, and do some things....I hate that hurry up and wait thing that this disease seems to carry with it....
You're still tucked in my pocket....

So glad you are back and so glad you are doing okay (well, under the circumstances and considering the alternative I suppose).....really good to hear from you and keeping you on the prayer list.
Best,

SURGERY
Katie, good to hear you had the surgery and are on your way to recovering. So true, there is no place like home, I'm right there with you sister.
Praying for a speedy and full recovery for you, and nothing but progress and forward positive thoughts for you and your family.
Put the whole "C" thing in a box and store it in the closet and enjoy the true meaning and experience of Christmas, as we all know the "C" thing will always be there.
I know what I just said is easier said than done, but do try.
Best
Mike

Nice to know you are home. Hope the need for oxygen is short-lived but, if not, look into an oxygenator. They are about the size of a car battery and have a handle like a pull along suitcase. They make oxygen out of room air, you can plug in the wall or use a small battery (about the size and shape of a flask). Much more convenient than the heavy tanks and FAA approved for air flights. Keeps a person from being tethered to the big boy. Hoping by the time you read this that you are off the oxygen altogether and have good test results. The best to you in the New Year!
