"Genentech’s Perjeta Significantly Extends Survival in People With HER2-Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Genentech, a member of the Roche Group (SIX: RO, ROG; OTCQX: RHHBY), today announced updated survival results from the Phase III CLEOPATRA study, which showed that the combination of Perjeta® (pertuzumab), Herceptin® (trastuzumab) and docetaxel chemotherapy significantly extended the lives (overall survival) of people with previously untreated HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer (mBC), compared to Herceptin, chemotherapy and placebo. Results showed that the risk of death was reduced by 34 percent for people who received Perjeta, Herceptin and chemotherapy, compared to those who received Herceptin and chemotherapy (HR=0.66; p=0.0008). At the time of the analysis, median overall survival had not yet been reached in people receiving the Perjeta combination, as more than half of these people continued to survive. Median overall survival was more than three years (37.6 months) for people who received Herceptin and chemotherapy. Based on these data, people receiving Herceptin and chemotherapy in CLEOPATRA have been offered the option to receive Perjeta. No new safety signals were observed in the study."

Perjeta
I believe that Kay (smalldoggroomer) stated in her recent post that she will be using perjeta soon.
She mentioned this drug before and since I was not familiar with the name, I looked it up. Other women on other mets sites have been using. I am glad for those with HER2 have another drug in the arsenal.
Thanks for posting CC. What is nice to read is that progress is always being made. We all want a cure right now. It will come to us not like the bang as in the the vaccine for polio did back in the 1950's but in small steps.

Oh my poor Saints. Eeek, it's like watching a train wreck lately. Hoping for a better season next year!
You are so sweet! I felt like I looked awful--been battling with weight gain. Katherine and her marathon cookie bakes are not helping!
BTW, we are about the same height, but she had on those "young girl" heels and I felt all shrunken...lol.
I miss you and need to visit San Diego sometime. Sisters and I are meeting in Savannah in February for our little reunion :-). Will try to head out your way later. Miss you and big, big hugs. And thanks again for making my day!0 -

How much fun .. a Sisters reunion in February! Please say hello to the girls from
me. Enjoy, laugh and create memories -- oh, I wish I could be a fly on the wall to
savor all the love, and joy you girls will share.
My Peyton is doing well this season, a world away from has year's possible career
ending year.
Drew Brees will again emerge as the NFL league MVP. No doubt. All we have to do is
to get Sean Payton back as Coach, and the rest will be history.
Miss you, and looking forward to another get together.
Warm wishes, and Happy Holidays to you, Danny, and Katherine.
