    it takes time
Hi, when I had head and neck cancer, I lost my taste buds for quite a while unfortunately. What you will notice is that some foods will come back faster then others, believe it or not. My savory came back way before my sweet side. From what the doc told me its your tongue, it has a sweet and savory side. If I were to try to put a time line to it, it would be about four to six months after treatment. You will be able to start tasting certain foods again. Wish I could say sooner, but remember everyone is different. As your doctor about zinc pills, some people I knew said it got there taste buds going.....hang in there Vinny
