My dad has reoccuring prostate cancer. Gleason is a 10, his PSA is down becasue he started the shots. THey dont know for sure if it escaped the capsule but chances are it has. He had the radiation so no surgery or radiation is allowed. We are investigating Cryotherapy. He has a second opinion scheduled at the Moffitt Cancer center. Anyone one else in the same boat?
Is it too late for Cryotherapy?

Confusing
Your dad has "recurring prostate cancer". . What does that mean? Cancer does not go away. What treatment did he have? I had 38 radiation treatments because it spread to bladder, but it also spread to lungs. I had radiosurgery, which is just a different name for radiation treatments, and was told by Dr. That they could do it again provided it was in different area.
You do not give much info which is a must for people to help you. Fill in the blanks. What did he have done to him? What was his gleason score, did he have CT scans, and MRI and if so what did they show?
With a little more info people here can offer suggestions, or opinions to help you make a decision.0 -
Gleason 10
This prostate should be remove, and as quick as they can Radiation!. who's in control, should be fired. A gleason score of 10 is bad and go for the second option!!!!!,,, because the first ***k.0 -

I do think that a second opinion is needed here. But information is also needed. A gleason of 10 is not good. My question is how many biopsy samples came back with cancer?
It looks like you might be rushing into treatment and not thinking everything thru. A diagnose of cancer is bad, but it needs to be treated correctly.
I would wait to see what the other doctor has to say. Surgery is one option, but if it has spread then there are other items to consider.
Please provide us with more information, the gleason score is fine, but what stage, how many biop samples came back with cancer and the percent of cancer in the biop samples.
Prostate cancer has a number of treatment options depending on stage and gleason score.
Hang in there.
